Thigh Lift, also known as Thighplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin for a smoother skin as well as better-shaped thighs and lower body. The surgeon tightens the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the thigh. Typically the localized pockets of fat need liposuction prior to skin reduction.
The majority of patients looking for Thigh Lift are individuals who have lost a lot of weight. Loss of weight can cause thigh skin to become loose and flabby. Bariatric patients following Weight loss surgery such as a gastric sleeve or gastric bypass are candidates for this procedure. Many Weight loss surgery patients will combine thigh lifts, body lifts, and body contouring (abdominoplasty).
It is critical to pick the right procedure for the right patient. Mexico Cosmetic Center’s plastic board-certified surgeons customize this procedure for each patient to best suit their body shape.
Regular Thigh lift
Regular thigh lift (short-scar) only includes a minor lift with a resulting scar only at the inguinal area – the incision is made within the groin.
Extended Thigh Lift
Extended thigh lift (long-scar) is a more important lift with more tissue cut out, the resulting scar has a “T” shape: one horizontal line at the inguinal area and one vertical line extending downwards to the knee – the incision is made from the groin down to the knee.
