Facelift surgery, medically known as a rhytidectomy, is a transformative facial rejuvenation procedure designed to lift sagging tissue and restore youthful contours to the mid-face (cheeks), jawline, and neck. For a full facelift, forehead and upper/lower eyelid procedures can also be performed in combination with mid-face and neck procedures. Depending on your aesthetic goals, facelift procedures can target specific facial areas or be combined for total facial renewal.
At Mexico Cosmetic Center® (MCC), our board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in modern, custom-tailored Deep-Plane Facelift (DPFL) techniques that deliver natural-looking, long-lasting results without a "pulled" appearance. Our comprehensive facelift procedures, along with advanced fat grafting and stem cell techniques, provide natural-looking, long-lasting results that restore youthful contours and enhance skin quality. From mini and full facelifts to advanced custom techniques, discover the right path to your goals at MCC.

A deep-plane facelift is an advanced surgical procedure that repositions the deeper structural muscle layers of the face (the SMAS layer) rather than pulling only the skin. By lifting the skin and muscle together as a single unit, this technique recreates natural facial volume without a pulled or artificial appearance.

A standard SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) facelift separates the skin layer from the underlying muscle tissue. The surgeon tightens and stitches the SMAS muscle layer independently before redraping the skin cleanly over the updated foundation and removing any excess.

A Mini Facelift (MF) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure designed to address early signs of aging in the lower third of the face. Utilizing smaller, hidden incisions around the ears, it tightens the superficial tissue and lower skin envelope with less tissue disruption than a full facelift.

Facial aging affects multiple areas simultaneously. Combining a facelift with complementary procedures in a single surgical session delivers balanced, full-face rejuvenation with a single shared recovery period.

Learn the key differences in technique, tissue layers, and longevity between an SMAS facelift and a deep-plane facelift to determine which procedure delivers your ideal result.

Fat injections are a cutting-edge solution for volume restoration and skin rejuvenation, often integrated with facelift procedures. Fat is harvested from the patient's adipose tissues (such as the abdomen or thighs), processed, filtered, and enhanced with stem cells, and re-injected into specific facial areas.

Going in for cosmetic surgery is undoubtedly a nerve-wracking experience and will lead to much questioning. Before you even consider traveling to Mexico, it is a good idea to research thoroughly and make sure that you are aware of the procedure and just what it entails. It is also a good idea to read further regarding the different types of facelifts so that you are familiar with them. This will give you a better idea of getting what you want.
You can save up to 80% of the cost in deep-plane / vertical facelift procedures in Mexico vs. San Diego.
MCC offers an all-inclusive deep-plane (vertical) facelift with fat transfer packages starting at $10,900†
Please note: Facelift procedures can not be performed at the same time as Rhinoplasty.
Recovery from a facelift is a gradual process of refinement. While every patient heals at their own pace, the following milestones offer a general guide for what to expect as you return to your vibrant self.
The first 48 to 72 hours are focused on rest. You will wear a soft compression wrap to minimize swelling and support your new contours. It is normal to experience a sensation of "tightness" rather than sharp pain, along with peak swelling and bruising by day three.
By the second week, most patients experience a significant turning point. Any surgical sutures or staples are typically removed, and bruising begins to transition to a light yellow hue that is easily camouflaged with mineral makeup.
By week four, you will begin to see a refreshed, more youthful version of yourself in the mirror. While you may feel back to normal, your tissues are still healing internally.
Driven largely by rising healthcare costs in the United States and Canada, many patients travel to destinations like Mexico to seek high-quality care at a fraction of the cost—with cosmetic procedures among the most popular choices. The International Joint Commission has already accredited at least seven major hospitals in Mexico for various procedures. As a result, you will know that you are in good hands when you travel here for surgery.
However, undergoing cosmetic surgery abroad requires careful consideration of both the journey and the outcome. A facelift, for example, alters one's appearance by tightening facial skin and smoothing wrinkles to restore a youthful look. Because techniques vary based on individual goals, prospective patients should carefully weigh the long-term results alongside the logistics of receiving care outside their home country.

At Mexico Cosmetic Center, patient safety is prioritized above all else:
