Liposuction in Mexico

Liposuction in Mexico

Medical tourism is an on the increase in a lot of countries particularly places such as Mexico. This is often due to two factors: a superior healthcare service or lower medical costs. For those who travel to Mexico to get an operation, it is usually attributable to the lower costs. However, it is important to note that a lower cost does not compromise a quality and safe procedure.

Medical travel by individuals from developed nations to countries with more economical medical services is usually referred to as “medical tourism” and this focuses primarily on the cost. This differs from what is known as international medical travel. International medical travel refers to the movement of patients from lesser developed countries to avail of a superior healthcare service to a more developed nation.

About Liposuction Procedure

Liposuction, Lipo or Fat Removal breaks up fat deposits that have not responded to diet and exercise. This type of fat is more likely influenced by genes than environmental contributors, such as diet and lifestyle.

Liposuction can be done in a doctor’s office, or a good surgery was depending on the type being conducted. An anesthetic is given to the patient before the procedure. Both local and general anesthesia is available depending on how much liposuction is being administered. A general anesthetic will put you to sleep during the operation.

The physician carefully marks the areas that are to be sculptured as guidelines. Small cuts are then made in the person’s skin once the anesthesia has taken effect. A suction device is then put into the cut, and fat is removed via the use of suction. The length of time that this procedure takes will, of course, depend on how much fat is being withdrawn from the body in the first place.

Liposuction can contour almost any area of your body. Lipo may be used to remove excess, localized fat deposits of the:

Types of Liposuction

There are some different variations of this technique. Tumescent liposuction involves injecting a solution into the fatty tissues of the body. This means that it is a lot easier to remove the fat from your body. It is a procedure that will ease your pain when you’ve finished the surgery.

Other forms of liposuction are Ultrasound-Assisted (Vaser), Laser-Assisted and Power-Assisted (PAL) techniques. In both ultrasound and laser techniques, fat is liquefied for easier removal. Ultrasound technique liquefies fat with sound waves, whereas laser technique liquefies the fat with heat. These methods cut down on bruising and swelling for faster healing and recovery. In PAL technique, power produces either oscillations or vibrations to help break up fatty tissue as it is being removed.

Liposuction is not a treatment for weight loss or obesity. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite or loose saggy skin. Patients are encouraged to stay active and maintain a healthy weight for long-lasting results.

Medical Tourism in Mexico

In Mexico, medical tourism is on the rise particularly from countries such as the United States. Patients from the USA are going over to get a variety of procedures done and to save money or even just to seek out affordable health care. As well as seeking treatment for a variety of things such as genetic disorders and dental surgery, a lot of patients are on the lookout for cheaper cosmetic surgery. This inevitably leads to some patients looking for liposuction.

There are in fact several places in Mexico that specialize in medical tourism. Seven different hospitals have been accredited by the International Joint Commission to ensure that the highest standards of quality and patient care are upheld in this country.

Getting Liposuction

Fat Transfer is a natural way to use the fat taken from your body with liposuction to reshape areas of body that needs volume, such as:

  • Face Fat Transfer
  • Breast Fat Transfer
  • Hand Fat Transfer
  • Buttocks Fat Transfer

Fat transfer/grafting is only feasible with regular liposuction. Laser-assisted lipo melts away fat and cannot be transferred.

Since cosmetic surgery is one reason for patients to travel to Mexico, this service is offered by some accredited hospitals. Liposuction itself is the removal of fat from the body. This fat is then placed into another body part to reform or reshape it and improve its cosmetic appearance. As with any form of cosmetic surgery, it is important to undergo a consultation and speak with your surgeon.

Whether you plan on getting your operation done in the United States or Mexico, you will need to book an appointment with your doctor. The doctor will sit down with you and ask a series of questions regarding your reasons for undergoing the surgery in the first place. He or she will also give you as much information about the operation as possible. This will include what risks are involved during the procedure as well as how long the recovery period will be. Your surgeon will also speak to you regarding the different things that will occur during the proceedings.

Aftercare for Liposuction

Anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and medical garments will be provided to the patient after the surgery has been completed. This is to ensure that the patient makes a full recovery. Those who undergo this procedure will need to have someone with them to help them travel home safely. You will probably feel sleepy and weak after the procedure, and, therefore, it is a good idea to have a close friend or family member around so that they can help you.

More Information

With regards to the procedure itself, liposuction will usually take between two to four hours. Those who undergo the procedure can expect to see the results of it immediately. At the same time, it is important to allow for recovery. This will ensure that you can enjoy your new body to the fullest.
